About Us
Qualified Instructors
Seidokan New York Karate Dojo (Studio) has been providing traditional Okinawan Karate instruction as well as effective, common sense self defense training to all in our Irondequoit Dojo since 2000. Our Head Instructors are Sensei (Teacher) Joe Diliberto, 9th degree black belt, and his sister Sensei Marisa Diliberto, 7th degree black belt. If you are interested in the martial arts, we welcome you to attend a couple classes, as an observer or a participant, with no commitment. As you'll see, all our instructors teach for the love of the martial arts.
Modern Studio
Our Karate Dojo is located at 760 E Ridge Road, Rochester NY. We're just a bit east of Hudson, and across from Pep Boys, around the back of the retail stores.
Our Philosophy
Sensei's Joe and Marisa's philosophy is to teach traditional karate technique in a respectful, fun manner. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged. Your personal growth in the martials arts is at your pace; all karateka (students) learn within their own comfort zones from certified, caring Sensei's.

We welcome families in the same household.
Children Classes
The Martial Arts experience shared by families is often fun and rewarding! We've found that children younger than 10 years old generally don't enjoy traditional martial arts classes very long unless they're youngster-sprecific. At this time Seidokan New York Karate Dojo doesn't offer youngster-specific classes. We reommend that you visit a few martial arts schools, determine if they are a good fit for your children and you, compare the tuitions, and ask if contracts are required.
